EddyFlower proudly presents the second annual “EddyFlower Vertical Challenge”, a contest of endurance, skill and mental determination. The competition is simple: you and your paddling buddies paddle as many runs as you can endure for 32 days and, to give your paddling purpose, the challenge involves raising funds for young adults with cancer. At the end of the event, the team in each division with the most vertical feet is crowned champion.
The Vertical Challenge opens at sunrise May 15 and closes sunset June 15.
Open to all paddlers, from all states, of all skill levels.

Every Tuesday night kicks off with a kayaking clinic run by the local whitewater legends from Alpine Quest. After the clinic, competitors drop in for a local's rodeo! May 29th is also the qualifier for the Teva Mountain Games East vs. West Rodeo

Buena Vista Paddle Fest

BUENA VISTA, CO – Whitewater enthusiasts will descend on this small historic town on the Upper Arkansas River May 18 – 20 for a huge kickoff party to celebrate the start of the summer whitewater boating season. Buena Vista-based Colorado Kayak Supply is coordinating an action-packed weekend of fun and educational activities for paddlers of all ages and abilities. Kayakers from beginners to aspiring competitors can rub elbows with paddling manufacturers, top pro kayakers, and other industry pros during a weekend chock full of education, entertainment, gear shopping and camaraderie.
There’s no better way to kick off your summer then at the Gunnison River Festival! The day starts with the Community Raft Race and the Race-A-Raft at 9a.m., ending the festival are the closing ceremonies at 5p.m, and for those 21+ the festival will continue into the night at Timber’s Sports Bar! The following events will be held throughout the day at the White Water Park or at the IOOF Park downtown.

Head to Steamboat Springs, Colo., Memorial Day (Monday, May 28) for the second annual Paddling Life Pro Invitational to watch the best men and women kayakers in the world (in Colorado for Vail’s Teva Mountain Games compete in a one-day, two-event competition for a $2,500 cash purse and year-long bragging rights.
With the top overall score determining the champion, the event will be followed by a post-event party at Sunpies Bistro featuring local bands, beer and other surprises. Last year’s inaugural event was a tremendous success for competitors and spectators alike, with a half-hour TV on the event airing year-round on Resort Sports Network
The 2007 Teva Mountain Games returns to Vail, Colorado May 30 - June 3, 2007. Professional and amateur athletes will converge upon the mountains and rivers of Vail to compete in six sports and ten disciplines.
The 2007 Teva Mountain Games is the country’s largest celebration of mountain sport, soul, and culture. Professional and amateur outdoor adventure athletes, local and from around the world, will converge upon the mountains and rivers of Vail to compete in six sports and ten disciplines including: freestyle and extreme kayaking, kayak and raft paddlecross, bouldering, speed and dyno climbing, freeride and cross country mountain biking as well as road bike hill climbing, trail running, and the ultimate mountain challenge.
On Saturday June 9 2007, Lyons Colorado will host the 5th annual Lyons Whitewater Festival. Over the last five years, the event has gradually gown into an event that everyone can enjoy, by spectating or competing.

Introducing the first annual Bear River Riverfest Downriver Race. There are two race categories: Time Trial and Boater Cross. The Time Trial contest is simple: Kayakers will do a timed run solo down the length of the race course. Boater Cross: Four kayakers start at once and race against each other and the clock the length of the course. The winner from each Boater Cross heat advances to compete against winners from other heats.
Racers will begin just upstream of the Interstate 80 bridge in Bear River State Park on the Bear River and end approximately one mile downstream below the 6th Street Bridge in the Bear River Greenway. Racers will encounter class II and III rapids and maneuver around boulders down the length of the restored Bear River through the Bear River Greenway. Spectators will enjoy the scenic beauty of the Bear River Greenbelt and Uinta Mountains, as well as feel the excitement of witnessing kayakers compete against themselves, the clock, and each other.
6/8 Downriver race on the class III Hoback River starting at 6pm.
6/9 Freestyle Rodeo on the Snake River, exact location to be deternmined by the water gods 10am-5pm Followed by food, drink, awards, good times and camping at the West Table boat launch in the Snake River Canyon.
6/10 Boater Cross Race down the class IV/V Greys River beginning at 10am.

Introducing the first annual Black Rock Race hosted by EddyFlower.com & sponsored by Palm. The contest is simple: teams of two will do a time trial run from the Black Rock put-in thru Riga Mortis rapid. Team with the fastest time will be crowned champions.
After the race, the participants and spectators will make their way to The Spot Bar and Grill to celebrate. An awards ceremony will be held where the winners will be announced with prizes awarded by Palm.
