This is a great run for beginner paddlers. Mostly mellow water with two class III rapids, with swift moving class II in between. The first rapid is between the put-in and the bridge. The second rapid, Mad Dog, is after the bridge when the river takes a hard right turn. Consider scouting this rapid. Beware of the diversion dam downstream of the take-out at Picnic Rock.
Disclaimer

	Put-In Located downsteam of the filter plant at mile marker 116.5 on hwy 14. You can unload next to the river, but you must park across the road in the designated parking area. 68 miles North of Denver.
	Take-Out Picnic Rock State Park is located at mile marker 119 on Highway 14.
