Middle Narrows

The Middle Narrows section of the Cache la Poudre is considered the easier of the three sections that make up the infamous “Narrows”. Technical class IV whitewater, however, fatalities have occurred on this stretch so be heads up. Middle narrows funnels into the more challenging section of the Lower Narrow just below the green bridge. Be sure not portage river right before the green bridge if your not willing to take the next step up to the Lower Narrows. Easy roadside scouting or portaging available.

Put-in is at Sports Car Corner Rapid, accessed by pulling off at a bend in the road directly below the Upper Narrows, mile marker 103. | | | Take-Out
The take-out for the Middle Narrows is at Kinney Bridge located at mile marker 104.1.
