The Upper Eagle begins at the take-out of Dowd Chute. This seven mile stretch is made up of mostly class II/ III whitewater. Very scenic and generally hazard-free, with minimal signs of encroaching civilization. Plenty of play boating opportunities. The most notable section is the Edwards Mile. This challenging class III section is located three miles below Avon.
